China is the home of our "Green Queen Sencha". Buddhist monks were the first to cultivate tea thousands of years ago - and passed their knowledge on to subsequent generations. So it's not surprising: China has the greatest variety of teas in the world. However, the Chinese import very little, because they drink most of their tea themselves. Mountainous - that is characteristic of the Chinese tea regions. The tea plants that are processed into our exquisite green tea now grow on plantations of smaller farms. Harvest is from April to June. The tea plants are exposed to the blazing sun for that long. This gives the tea its characteristic taste. The tea leaves are almost exclusively picked by hand.
