Three ingredients. Three countries. That is our "Fennel Anise Elixir". Fennel and anise come from Egypt and Turkey. Caraway comes from Finland. All three grow in fields. Fennel is mainly found in Mediterranean areas. It needs warm, nutrient-rich soil. Harvest time is at the end of September. The seeds go into the tea. The umbels are dried upside down. Anise originally comes from the eastern Mediterranean: Turkey, Spain, Hungary, Lebanon and Egypt. It is now mainly grown there. The seeds of anise are also needed for tea. Cutting umbels, drying them, collecting seeds: this is what its harvest looks like in early autumn. Caraway comes from the Middle East and the Mediterranean countries, but is now grown as far as Europe and Siberia. It needs loamy, sandy soil. Finnish caraway is of first-class quality. That is why it goes into our tea.
